A place founded on history

Nestled in the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges, Swanson has a special connection to nature. Ever since the 1850s, it’s been recognised as a place to graze and grow.

In 1926, young Milan Babic Yozin arrived from Croatia and quickly identified Swanson Swanson as the ideal place to lay the foundation for his future and raise his children.

With help from locals, he built his own winery by hand for the community to enjoy the fruits of his labour. The Yozin packing shed still stands proudly today.

The strength of community remains strong in Swanson, making it an appealing place to call home.
